Join the iconic Gray Line Ottawa team as a Tour Bus Driver and become the face of Canada’s capital! I'm looking for a full time driver on contract from June 21st to September 8th. Duties
- Safely operate Gray Line motor coaches and open-top double-decker buses on scenic routes throughout Ottawa and Gatineau.
- Work with full 7 to 10 hour shifts! No short 3 /4 hour days or split days.
- Work closely with on-board tour guides to ensure smooth timing and an exceptional passenger experience.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical functionality, and that "Gray Line clean" aesthetic.
- Provide warm, welcoming customer service, assisting passengers with boarding and sharing in the excitement of their visit.
- Maintain accurate logs and communicate effectively with dispatch to navigate city traffic and special events seamlessly.
Compensation & Perks
- Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour + TIPS
- Tips: Drivers share tips 50/50 with their tour guides. While daily totals vary from $30 to $150, the average is $70 per day in untaxed cash.
- Total Earnings: These tips typically add an extra $8 to $9 per hour to your base pay, rewarding your great service directly.
Qualifications
- Driver’s License:
- Ontario: Must hold a valid Class B or C license with a clean abstract.
- Quebec: Must hold a valid Class 2 license with a clean abstract.
- Experience: 2 Years of Proven experience in motor coach or bus driving with a heavy focus on safety and smooth vehicle handling.
- Social Skills: A friendly, outgoing personality—you enjoy a fast-paced environment where people are happy and on vacation!
- Communication: English or French skills (Bilingualism is a major asset) to interact with our diverse international clientele.
- Flexibility: Comfort operating in various weather conditions while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
