CBU invites applications for the position of International Student Recruitment Officer. This is a limited term full-time position. This is approximately a 12-month term.
The successful candidate will develop and implement the internationalization strategy and marketing activities of Cape Breton University (CBU), facilitate the development of Educational Consultant Agreements and nurture those relationships, cultivate student leads, and represent CBU in diverse international markets.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning and organization of international recruitment and marketing initiatives, including participation in recruitment activities, presentations, and representation of Cape Breton University internationally and within Canada.
- Build and maintain relationships with Educational Consultants, high school guidance counselors, faculty, deans, agents, partners, and external stakeholders to support recruitment efforts and partnership opportunities.
- Provide accurate and timely information to prospective students and partners while nurturing leads through Recruit, supporting digital and social media recruitment initiatives, and addressing student concerns related to admissions, registration, tuition, records, financial aid, and exchange programs.
- Maintain knowledge of international education systems, curriculum and grade conversions, education trends, competitor marketing, and existing partnerships to support operational planning, recruitment strategies, reporting, and the development of new cooperative opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree (CBU graduate preferred)
- Highly motivated, focused and results-oriented with the ability to meet expectations in a face-paced and dynamic environment
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Demonstrated excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of the principles of appreciative advising
- Enthusiasm for CBU
- Initiative and flexibility to do the work that needs to be done
- Adept in the use of social media
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with tact and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Flexibility for travel and non-traditional working hours. A valid passport and driver’s license are required.
