Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator. The ideal candidate will have experience operating excavators, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. This role offers an opportunity for work into the winter clearing bush . Candidates should possess mechanical knowledge and be familiar with KAT equipment and other heavy machinery.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs when necessary
- Follow project plans and specifications to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed on-site
- Load and unload materials using appropriate machinery
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety standards and best practices
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and other heavy machinery in construction settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to operate KAT equipment effectively
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to safety standards
Pay: $25.08-$40.00 per hour
