Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00 pm

We are a busy and growing Obstetrics and Gynecology practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. We are seeking an organized, professional, and patient-focused individual to join our team on a one-year term basis, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent full-time position.
Position Summary
The Obstetrics & Gynecology Medical Office Assistant plays a vital role in supporting physicians and ensuring the efficient operation of our clinic. The successful candidate will provide administrative and clinical support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Answer and direct telephone calls.
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
- Register patients and update demographic information.
- Prepare and maintain electronic and paper medical records.
- Process referrals, test results, and physician correspondence.
- Coordinate with hospitals, laboratories, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation.
- Assist with sterilization and preparation of instruments and examination rooms.
- Support physicians and colleagues with daily clinic operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Medical Office Assistant certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous experience in an Obstetrics and Gynecology office is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in a fast-paced medical environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and filing.
- Lift and carry office supplies and medical equipment as required.
- Bend, reach, and move throughout the clinic environment.
- Manage a physically and mentally demanding workload in a busy medical office.
