We are looking for a Fresh Food Leader to join our Healthy Planet family! Healthy Planet Commissary is an in-store concept dedicated to bringing real, fresh, and delicious food to our communities with a quality chef-created menu. Our offerings include soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, pizzas, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, breakfast items, baked goods, and snacks— all carefully prepared from scratch every day.
In this rewarding and challenging role, you’ll manage the full day-to-day operations of Healthy Planet Kitchen, uphold the highest quality and food safety standards, ensure accurate meal execution per recipes, maintain proper inventory levels, and lead the training and scheduling of our kitchen team. Inventory & Operations Management

Ensure inventory is ordered to meet business needs and products are rotated by best before dates.

Manage all operational records including opening/closing procedures, fridge temperatures, dishwasher logs, and cleaning schedules.

Maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of kitchen and storage areas; coordinate equipment repairs as needed.

Receive and store all deliveries accurately and timely.

Record and manage food waste and demo usage, adjusting inventory accordingly.
Team Leadership & Development
-
Schedule team members based on business demands and operational needs.
-
Oversee, coach, and ensure recipe preparation aligns strictly with specifications and quality standards.

Motivate and engage kitchen staff to provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive team environment.

Train new team members effectively and foster ongoing learning.

Maintain open communication with the Store Manager for weekly planning and sales strategy.
Customer Engagement & Sales Support

Memorize and confidently explain the full menu, including ingredients, benefits, taste profiles, and preparation details.

Drive sales by ensuring promotions and demo stations are executed artfully and effectively.

Provide friendly, knowledgeable food service to guests, handle inquiries, upsell products, and accommodate special requests when possible.
Food Safety
-
Ensure all kitchen staff comply with health, safety, and food handling regulations.

Enforce sanitation standards and safe food preparation protocols at all times.

Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation regulations, and company policies.
Training & Compliance
-
Completion of required Lessonly training modules
-
Ongoing participation in workshops and brand education sessions to stay current on wellness trends and company initiatives

Demonstrated commitment to attendance, punctuality, team collaboration, and reliability
Other Duties

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Proven kitchen management and team leadership experience.

Strong knowledge of food handling, ingredients, and kitchen equipment (knives, ovens, stoves, etc.).

Food Handler Certification is an asset.

Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation regulations in food service operations.

Proficient in budgeting and inventory management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work well under pressure both independently and within a team.

Passion for health and wellness culinary space is a plus.
