Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport freight and goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks.
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy and completeness before departure.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment or forklifts when required for loading or unloading cargo.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring deliveries are made professionally and on time.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or freight transportation.
- Knowledge of forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong navigation skills with familiarity in route planning.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
