The Opportunity
As our Finance Manager (Controller), you’ll be the financial backbone of our company owning the full accounting cycle, guiding our store managers with financial clarity, and partnering directly with the President on strategy. What You'll own
- Oversee all financial accounting systems including month-end close, general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate/overhead cost allocations
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team (including AP staff) — setting a clear vision, fostering accountability, and building a high-performing, collaborative culture
- Complete month-end closing journal entries, financial reports, payroll summaries, and store P&Ls, and distribute to the management team
- Complete all government filings including EHT, HST, and WSIB returns
- Adhere to and continuously improve internal controls and financial procedures/SOPs
- Direct, coordinate, and participate in physical inventory counts; reconcile and investigate variances; prepare inventory valuation adjustments
- Prepare cash flow projections and report to the management team with strategic recommendations
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget in partnership with store managers and the President
- Manage banking relationships, insurance renewals, and lease administration
- Identify and pursue grants, bursaries, rebates, and hiring credits that benefit the organization
- Review all cost centres and identify opportunities for improvement
- Communicate financial results clearly and confidently to store managers and senior leadership; build financial literacy across the team through coaching, reporting, and collaboration
- Track employee sick and vacation days; ensure all team members have current job descriptions
What You Bring
- CPA Designation
- Microsoft Dynamics/ NAV experience
- Process improvement track record
- Proven people leadership & team development (essential)
- Post-secondary degree in Finance/Accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Retail accounting experience (strong asset)
- Exceptional communication skills - written & verbal (essential)
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- relationship-building with vendors & teams

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
