The Role

As an Area Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing cleaning operations and service delivery within an assigned portfolio. Your role will be to ensure company standards and client expectations are consistently met while maintaining high levels of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet regularly with building managers to ensure cleaning standards and client expectations are consistently met, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct routine Quality Assurance (QA) inspections across assigned sites.
- Evaluate the performance of cleaning staff and recommend corrective actions or improvements as required.
- Coordinate and schedule replacements for unexpected staff absences to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Conduct onboarding, training, and retraining for new and existing employees.
- Promote safety awareness across all work locations.
- Lead and facilitate regular safety meetings with employees.
- Perform annual Health & Safety inspections for assigned buildings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the janitorial or facilities services industry.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, and people management skills.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and maintain a high-performing, customer service–focused team.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally and respectfully in a culturally diverse environment.
- Proficient in computer applications, including email and mobile communication tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, conduct meetings, and deliver training.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMIS 2015.
- Must hold a valid Ontario Full G Class Driver’s License.
- Clean driving abstract required.
Requirements & Conditions of Employment
- Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to work weekends, statutory holidays, and various shifts as assigned, including coverage at multiple locations as operationally required.
- Must carry a company-issued mobile phone at all times and be available to respond to emergencies or critical situations outside of regular business hours.
- Must be able to operate company vehicles equipped with GPS monitoring systems.
