The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (P.Eng.) with at least five years of relevant experience to join our team full-time. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and preliminary design through detailed design, approvals, tendering, construction, and closeout. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, municipalities, contractors, Indigenous communities, and our internal technical team while taking responsibility for the quality, coordination, and delivery of assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects, including water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, roadworks, grading, and site servicing.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, tender documents, and permit submissions.
- Coordinate project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and communications with clients and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and quality review for work prepared by engineers-in training, technologists, and drafting staff.
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, construction inspections, and contract administration activities, including responding to contractor questions and reviewing progress documentation.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, municipalities, approval agencies, contractors, and Indigenous communities.
- Contribute to proposals, fee estimates, project planning, and business development activities.
Quaifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or eligible for registration in British Columbia.
- Minimum five years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in municipal infrastructure, land development, or site servicing.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing civil engineering designs, reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Strong technical judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and stakeholders.
- Valid BC driver's licence and access to a vehicle for site travel.
- Experience with Civil 3D, PCSWMM and Water CAD is an asset.
