Job Description
We are seeking a Full-Time Electrical CAD Technician/Drafter with at least 1 year of AutoCAD experience. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented, and hardworking individual who can produce high-quality electrical design drawings and support the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update electrical design drawings (tenant improvements, service upgrades, BC Hydro coordination, street lighting).
- Draft layouts, single-line diagrams, and schematics using AutoCAD (minimum 1 year direct experience required).
- Support Revit modeling and collaborate on 3D design documentation (asset).
- Perform lighting design calculations and layouts using AGI32 and Dialux (asset).
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Maintain organized documentation and project records.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders.
- Manage multiple tasks with excellent time management and punctuality.
- Assist with project submissions and technical packages.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of CAD (AutoCAD) drafting experience (required)
- Diploma or education in Electrical Engineering / Technology – beneficial but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of building electrical systems (lighting layouts, power distribution, service coordination).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, and Dialux lighting software – considered strong assets.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong documentation, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Hardworking, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Knowledge of BC Electrical Code/Canadian Electrical Code – considered an asset.
