'Summary'
'We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our team at SCHINKEL PROPERTIES in Alberta. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue across multiple segments including hotel accommodations, corporate travel, group bookings, banquets, and events. This role is instrumental in maximizing occupancy, increasing banquet and meeting space utilization, and developing strong, long-term relationships with corporate clients and community partners.
The ideal candidate is proactive, results-driven, and thrives on building relationships while delivering exceptional guest and client experiences.
'Key Responsibilities'
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across corporate travel, group bookings, meetings, banquets, and events
Corporate Travel Sales
- Develop and manage a portfolio of corporate travel clients, including local businesses, national accounts, and extended-stay needs
- Negotiate and maintain preferred corporate rates and agreements
Banquet & Event Sales
- Promote and sell banquet and meeting spaces for SMERF, Association and Corporate Group markets
- Coordinate event requirements with clients and internal teams
Revenue Management & Reporting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and local demand generators
- Track sales performance and maintain accurate reporting
- Manage contracts, room blocks, and event bookings within hotel systems
- Ensure all sales activities and client interactions are documented
Client Experience
- Deliver exceptional service from initial inquiry through post-event or post-stay follow-up
- Conduct professional site tours and client presentations
Collaboration
- Work closely with Director of Business Development, front office, hotel general managers, and food & beverage teams to align on group and event execution
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of hotel sales experience, including corporate and/or banquet sales
- Proven success in developing corporate travel accounts and meeting sales targets
- Strong understanding of hospitality operations and revenue management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with strong time management abilities
- Experience with hotel PMS, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
