Skilled Excavation & Hardscape Labourer – Skid Steer Experience Required

About the Position
Riverstone Excavation & Underground Ltd. is looking to hire a skilled labourer with experience in excavation, grading, hardscape construction, and water and sewer connections. We are looking for someone who understands construction sites, works hard, takes pride in quality work, and can operate equipment safely and efficiently.
This is a full-time position with opportunity for growth within a rapidly expanding excavation and underground company.
Responsibilities
- Assist with excavation, grading, trenching, and site preparation
- Assist with water and sewer service installations and underground utility work
- Operate skid steer safely and efficiently
- Assist with retaining walls, armour stone, paver, and hardscape installations
- Read laser levels and assist with grading and pipe elevations
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Support pipe crews and excavation crews when needed
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Requirements
- Previous excavation and construction experience required
- Experience with water and sewer connections required
- Experience using laser levels required
- Skid steer operating experience required
- Experience operating excavators is a strong asset
- Experience with hardscape and retaining wall construction is an asset
- Ability to read grades and elevations is an asset
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Physically capable of heavy labour work
- Valid driver’s license required
- DZ license is an asset but not mandatory
Safety & Equipment Standards
- Proper housekeeping and maintaining clean job sites and equipment is mandatory
- Daily pre-shift inspections of equipment are mandatory
- Employees are expected to take pride in equipment and tools
- Any damage, defects, or safety concerns must be reported immediately
- Safe work practices must be followed at all times
- Completion of company safety training and orientation is mandatory
