Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Confined Space Attendant to oversee safety operations within confined environments. This role is critical in ensuring the safety of personnel working in potentially hazardous confined spaces by monitoring, supporting, and managing emergency procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and emergency management skills to effectively coordinate safety protocols and respond to incidents as needed.
Duties
- Monitor personnel entering and working within confined spaces to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain constant communication with entrants via appropriate communication devices.
- Conduct safety checks of equipment and environment prior to entry, including ventilation, lighting, and atmospheric testing.
- Assist in the implementation of emergency response plans, including rescue operations if necessary.
- Document all activities related to confined space entries, including entry logs, safety checks, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams during incidents or emergencies, providing support as needed.
- Lead safety briefings and training sessions for team members regarding confined space protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and readily accessible.
Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage safety operations effectively under pressure.
- Valid Confined space entry training/certification
- Experience or training in emergency management, rescue techniques, and first aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations related to confined spaces and industrial safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and emergency responders.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations.
- Prior experience in industrial safety or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
