Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Labourer to join our team and support the daily operations of our horticultural facility. This role involves hands-on work in a dynamic environment focused on plant cultivation and greenhouse maintenance. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and passionate about gardening and plant care. Duties
- Assist with irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and crops
- Perform planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting activities within the greenhouse
- Use hand tools and mechanical equipment for various maintenance tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote a safe environment
- Monitor plant health and report any issues related to pests, diseases, or environmental conditions
- Support with soil preparation, fertilization, and other cultivation practices
- Assist in setting up and maintaining greenhouse structures and equipment
- Carry out heavy lifting as needed for moving plants, soil bags, or equipment
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of horticulture principles and gardening techniques
- Experience with irrigation systems and plant care is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with hand tools is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to planting and watering schedules
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Prior experience working with gardening or in a greenhouse environment is advantageous but not mandatory
