About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Pipe Layer to join our growing sewer and watermain construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of underground watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related infrastructure on municipal, commercial, and residential projects.
This position requires individuals who are safety-focused, hardworking, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Install watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer pipe systems according to project specifications and grades.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and grade stakes.
- Assist with trench preparation, bedding, pipe alignment, and backfilling operations.
- Set laser levels and verify pipe elevations and slopes.
- Work safely around excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
- Install manholes, catch basins, valves, hydrants, and related underground infrastructure.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pipe Layer in sewer and watermain construction.
- Ability to read grades, blueprints, and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of underground utility installation practices and procedures.
- Experience working in trenches and around heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction safety requirements.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Confined Space, Trench Safety, or First Aid certifications.
- Experience with municipal infrastructure projects.
