Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Evening Closer & Cafe Cleaner to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our customers and staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for closing duties and ensuring the cafe is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next day’s operations. This position offers an opportunity to work during evening hours in a dynamic and friendly setting, contributing to the overall success of our establishment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all cafe areas, including dining spaces, kitchen, restrooms, and entryways
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized and free of debris at the end of each shift
- Take out trash and recycling, replacing liners as needed
- Restock supplies such as napkins, utensils, and cleaning materials for the next day
- Conduct routine facilities maintenance tasks to uphold cleanliness standards
- Secure premises by locking doors and setting alarms after completing closing procedures
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
- Adhere to health and safety regulations throughout all cleaning activities
- Gelato Station Shutdown: Safely pack up, store, and label remaining gelato inventory. Clean and sanitize the display wells, glass dividers, and serving utensils according to food safety protocols.
- Cafe Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and sanitize all front-of-house floors. Wipe down customer tables, chairs, countertops, and high-touch surface areas.
- Waste Management: Empty all trash, recycling, and organic bins. Dispose of waste securely in the designated property dumpsters. Restock clean bin liners.
- Opening Prep: Complete the evening checklist to ensure the morning shift can open immediately without delay.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance and basic maintenance procedures
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during evening hours
- Good organizational skills to manage closing tasks efficiently
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
