Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various eye conditions. This role requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Experience in senior care, pediatrics, and optical sales is highly valued.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other vision aids.
- Provide patient education on eye health and preventative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry and related fields.
- Assist in optical sales by recommending appropriate eyewear based on patient needs.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Valid provincial licensure to practice optometry.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to eye care.
- Experience with senior care and pediatrics is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Familiarity with optical products and sales techniques is advantageous.
