Role: The Journeyman Structural Welder will fabricate and assemble steel structures using welders, cutters and other tools.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Production welding, repair welding, general fabrication and fitting of structural materials.
- Supporting teams with other construction activities such as installing machinery guards, installing safety gates, hi-traction products, and other project-related work in the plants.
- The use of various hand tools, machinery and equipment will be required to manufacture metal products.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
- Assist with shop and/or field fabrication/installation of structural steel and related materials.
- Interface with Clients and other key stakeholders as may be required on projects and represent UBS Industrial Solutions in a professional manner.
- Assist and support the management team, as may be required in day-to-day activities.
- Diligently adhere to all relevant OH&S requirements and ensure in-house safety regulations are complied with.
Qualifications:
- Current CWB welding certification is required.
- Flux core experience/certification would be an asset.
- Must possess a Journeyperson Welder ticket.
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Must be a strong team player and can work independently with minimal direction.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Hard worker, ready to assume responsibility quickly and contribute to our positive environment.
- OSSA BSO or Common Safety Orientation (CSO) Certification.
All employees in safety sensitive positions are subject to Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing as per UBS Canada’s and Customer’s, Drug and Alcohol policies which may include random testing, testing for cause, re-qualification testing, post incident and return to work testing.
Candidates from across Alberta may be considered but those that are local for Fort McMurray or willing to relocate are preferred.
