About the Role
Pre Pak Meats is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Delivery Driver to operate our 3-ton and 5-ton refrigerated trucks, delivering fresh and frozen meat products to customers across Calgary and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in punctual, professional service and is comfortable performing basic vehicle upkeep to keep routes running smoothly. Handling temperature-sensitive product means strict adherence to cold-chain and food safety standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate our trucks to deliver fresh and frozen meat products, following all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload product, verify orders, and obtain delivery signatures
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance — checking oil, coolant, tire pressure, lights, and fluid levels — and report major repair needs promptly
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and log any defects
- Complete accurate delivery logs, trip reports, and documentation, and maintain cold-chain temperature records
- Provide professional customer service, resolving delivery issues and relaying information to dispatch.
- Maintain truck cleanliness and ensure sanitary conditions for food transport.
Requirements
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license with a clean commercial driver's abstract.
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving a 5-ton truck.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Food industry or cold-chain delivery experience is a strong asset.
- Basic computer skills for logistics tracking and documentation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30kg and perform repetitive loading/unloading
- Comfortable with early morning starts and working in refrigerated/frozen environments.
Assets (Preferred)
- Experience with dispatch and pre-trip procedures
- Warehouse operations familiarity
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices.
