Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with POS systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are considered valuable assets. The Cashier will play a vital role in maintaining store organization and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective sales techniques and professional interaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately to process transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision and security
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions or special offers to enhance sales
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure product displays are tidy and appealing
- Provide product demonstrations when necessary to inform customers about features and benefits
- Manage customer inquiries professionally via phone or in-person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist with merchandising tasks to ensure shelves are stocked and visually attractive
- Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Follow organizational policies for cash handling, security procedures, and customer data privacy
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Bilingual skills (English plus another language) are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, time management, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role
- Experience in upselling or technology sales can be beneficial but is not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued

Pay: $17.60-$28.51 per hour
