Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism to support our company's logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport freight and goods to designated destinations
- Load and unload cargo using equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks when necessary
- Verify delivery orders and ensure accuracy of shipments before departure
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps to meet delivery schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs
- Communicate with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and address any issues
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred; a standard driver’s license is required with a clean driving record
- Experience with freight handling and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is advantageous
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for minor vehicle troubleshooting
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required for loading or unloading cargo
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with local routes or the ability to learn new routes quickly
- Excellent time management skills to ensure punctual deliveries
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers, dispatchers, and team members
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and perform manual tasks related to freight handling
