General Maintenance Person (Part-Time)
Rooftop Patio Pool Bar & Entertainment Venue
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on General Maintenance Person to help keep our rooftop patio pool bar operating safely, efficiently, and looking its best. This is an ideal role for a self-motivated individual who takes initiative, notices what needs attention, and gets it done without constant supervision.
Position Overview
As our General Maintenance Person, you will be responsible for routine repairs, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general upkeep of our rooftop patio pool bar. In addition, we operate a nightclub and entertainment venue on the lower level of the building, and occasional maintenance support may be required there as well.
The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of building maintenance systems and be comfortable handling a variety of tasks independently across both venues.
Schedule: Part-Time (approximately 2 days per week) with occasional on-call availability as needed.
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of both venues and proactively identify maintenance needs.
- Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues, including unclogging drains and using drain snakes.
- Assist with minor electrical work, wiring repairs, fixture replacement, and troubleshooting (within qualifications and safety regulations).
- Maintain pool bar equipment, nightclub fixtures, furniture, and common areas.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues as they arise.
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.
- Ensure both venues remain clean, safe, and guest-ready at all times.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
- Assist with seasonal opening, closing, and special event setup requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or a related trade.
- Working knowledge of:
- Plumbing systems
- Electrical systems and basic wiring
- Drain cleaning and snaking
- General carpentry and repairs
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to identify issues proactively and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Pool maintenance experience is considered an asset.
- Nightclub, restaurant, bar, or hospitality venue maintenance experience is considered an asset.
