Specializing in marine work, we do everything from full enclosures to boat covers to settees. At Clear Marine Canvas & Upholstery, we take pride in enhancing our client’s spaces with our craftsmanship and dedication. We share an office with our sister company, Sea Power Marine Centre, who service boats of all sizes.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both canvas and upholstery, with specific experience in marine or automotive applications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional craftsmanship, and the ability to work independently or with a team on complex projects. The candidate must also be willing to pass on their knowledge to our three other fabricators and ensure they are learning new skills and reinforcing their current skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, repair, and install custom marine canvas covers, enclosures, and upholstery.
- Work with various materials, including canvas, vinyl, and stainless steel tubing.
- Install hardware and fittings for marine applications.
- Collaborate with the clients and administration on design work and budgeting.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in canvas and upholstery fabrication, with a focus on marine or automotive applications.
- Strong knowledge of marine or automotive canvas and upholstery techniques and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and on a team.
- Good communication both within the team and with clients.
- Able to act as a teacher to newer fabricators at the company.
