Job Summary I am seeking a dedicated and flexible ON CALL- Casual Daycare Substitute to join my small in home family childcare centre. Please note that casual - on call work is not a pt or full time position- you will only be filling in for the operator who must call in sick, or is unable to work due to other reasons (vacation, appointments etc).
In this role, you will step into the classroom as needed , ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Your energetic approach and caregiving skills will help maintain continuity of care and foster positive experiences for children during staff absences. Duties
- supervising and engaging children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development
- Support the implementation of daily routines, including snack time, outdoor play, circle time, and rest periods
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children by maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment
- Provide attentive caregiving, including comforting children, helping with personal hygiene, and addressing individual needs
- Collaborate with owner/operator to ensure consistent classroom management and positive behaviour support
- Follow all licensing regulations, health guidelines, and program policies to uphold high standards of care
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding daily activities and children's progress when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in a licensed early childhood setting
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued
- Strong background in early childhood education principles and caregiving techniques
- Demonstrated ability to engage children through teaching and play-based activities
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

- ECE, ECEA certificate or completion of a certified 20 hour responsible adult course Is required

Pay: $18.25-$21.00 per hour
