Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on roofing projects, possess strong manual skills, and be committed to delivering high-quality workmanship. This role involves working on residential and commercial roofing systems, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and capable of handling physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using various materials such as shingles, metal, or membrane roofing
- Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and blueprint reading skills
- Prepare roofs by removing old materials and inspecting underlying structures for damage or necessary repairs
- Use caulking and sealing techniques to ensure waterproofing and weather resistance
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications
- Maintain a clean work site by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or handyman work, with specific experience in roofing preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and measuring devices
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing joints and seams
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to working at heights and on construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for transporting materials and equipment
