Company Background: Freymond Lumber operates a sawmill in Bancroft, Ontario producing high quality lumber from wood harvested in a responsible manner from local forests. We have been manufacturing both hardwood and softwood lumber since 1946. We sell truckload quantities of green, graded lumber, cants and ties. Our wood supply is sourced from our own harvesting operations on both Crown Forests and private woodlots and purchased from local logging contractors and landowners.
Position Summary: Freymond Lumber is seeking a Truck and Coach Technician
Primary Responsibilities
- Detecting and diagnosing operating problems in frames and steering mechanisms, engines, transmissions, brakes, ignition, axles, fuel systems, engine management systems, suspension systems, electrical/electronic systems, and emission control systems
- Adjusting, overhauling, repairing and reassembling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, differentials, brakes, drive shafts, axles and other assemblies
- Using various diagnostic equipment to diagnose and isolate faults
- Keeping up to date on advances in technology and updating skills
- Communicating effectively with co-workers, customers and service managers
- Reading and interpreting owner/operator/manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications
Requirements:
- A valid Truck and Coach Technician Licence (310T), with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Truck and Coach repair and service
- Work independently, with minimal direction, and collaboratively with peers and managers as part of a maintenance repair team
- Able to learn new skills in a timely manner
- Safety conscious and customer centric with excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional diagnostic and analytical skills (including electrical and electronics) with superior attention to detail
- Self-motivated and safety conscious with the ability to meet repair deadlines in a fast-paced demanding environment
- High initiative, integrity and ability to function effectively as a team player
- Possess a work record of good attendance and job performance
- Physically fit, with stamina to perform the duties of licenced Truck & Coach Technician (which may include working in a standing position for long time periods)
- Possess good manual dexterity and the ability to work to close tolerances
- Able to tolerate exposure to moderate amounts of noise, dust, grit, oil/grease, fumes, solvents, paints, lacquers, hot/sharp metals and surface finishing products
