About the Role
City Hall Campus Guards provide a uniformed security presence at Downtown Brampton facilities, assets, and events. Guards are responsible for the safety, security, and professional representation of the City of Brampton at all times.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations.

Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior); address policy breaches and note facility concerns.

Unlock and lock doors and offices; provide access and afterhours control.

Provide a uniformed presence in City Hall Atrium and at Council Chamber meetings.

Provide break relief for contract and City of Brampton Security Services staff.

Deter and enforce prohibited acts (loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, cycling) in squares, parks, driveways, and parking lots.

Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally.

Assist visitors and employees during crises; contact emergency services as needed.

De-escalate crises and liaise with police, fire, and paramedic resources.

Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries.

Provide first aid and medical response as required.

Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.

Flag raising and lowering duties.

Provide event security at City Hall, Gage Park, and Garden Square.

Maintain positive relationships with client staff and external clients.

Attend / Assist after hour meeting and events

Requirements
-
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider

High degree of written and oral communication.

Minimum 3 years of security experience required.

Comfortable working and patrolling in indoor and outdoor environments.

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
