Summary of Job:
We are looking for a Receptionist to join our busy, multi-physician doctors' office. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced primary care setting with a wide range of patients.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients, answer and triage phone calls as well as schedule patient visits as required;
- Respond to requests from the public, external collaborators, and other contacts in an efficient and pleasant manner;
- Perform other administrative duties including maintaining equipment and office supplies, photocopying, filing, faxing, scanning, printing, distributing mail, arranging for courier services;
- Utilize clinical management information systems including booking and billing as well as report functions;
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the organization by maintaining current knowledge of policy manuals and keeping up to date with all organization initiatives;
- Liaise with other staff to exchange information and procedures;
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Personal Health Information Act by exercising high level of care in protecting confidential and sensitive information of clients, their families, personnel, and the organization;
- Work in compliance with Health and Safety laws adhering to safe work practices and procedures established by the UCFHT;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates will possess a post-secondary degree in Office Administration with preference to those in health services or equivalent experience in a health care setting;
- Understanding and ability to use medical terminology an asset;
- Advanced skills in clinical management software, MS Office, and other relevant software applications;
- Problem-solving skills, ability to use sound judgement;
- Interpersonal skills, diplomacy and discretion, excellent telephone manner;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work well independently and in a group setting;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity, whether related to race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity
