Position Summary
The FOH (front-of-house) All-Rounder is the friendly face of Purebread's bustling bakery and coffee shop. You'll take orders, craft hot and cold beverages (coffee, espresso, tea, cold drinks), keep the bakery case looking irresistible, warm up light food items, and help run a clean, welcoming space customers want to come back to.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage & Food Prep
- Craft hot and cold coffee & espresso drinks, teas, and other cold beverages following standard recipes.
- Handle light food prep: warming items (e.g. pastries, sandwiches) and displaying bakery goods attractively.
- Perform light baking duties (e.g. scones) as needed.
- Package breads and other bakery items for clients.
- Practice proper food handling procedures.
Customer Experience
- Deliver prompt, friendly, and welcoming service that will delight customers. Answer questions about product items and provide suggestions.
- Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor when needed.
Cashier & Point-of-Sale Duties
- Greet customers, take orders and process payments accurately.
- Ensure accuracy of cash drawer, track POS transactions, and provide receipts.
Merchandise & Inventory
- Replenish display cases, stock items and front‑of‑house supplies.
- Assist with inventory counts and notify manager of low-stock items.
Cleanliness & Store Ambience
- Keep all customer-facing areas, including used dishes/cups, counters, tables, floors, and beverage stations clean and sanitized.
- Keep all food preparation areas clean and sanitized.
- Support opening/closing routines: setting up stations, cleaning tables, organizing entryways and any outdoor areas.
Team Support
- Assist all other FOH tasks during busy times.
- Close shifts in coordination with supervisors: clean equipment, complete logs, prep for next day.
Required Qualifications
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Strong communication and customer‐service skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable standing for long periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with POS systems. Basic math skills and accurate cash handling.
- Previous barista or cafe experience is preferred, but enthusiastic entry‑level candidates
- are welcome.
- Legally permitted to work in Canada.
