Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Chef/Baker to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods and dishes, with an emphasis on cake decorating and food presentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, baking, and customer service, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere and high-quality product offerings. Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and bread, ensuring quality and consistency
- Decorate cakes and desserts with creative designs to meet customer specifications
- Assist in food preparation for daily service, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Package baked goods for retail sale or catering orders while ensuring proper handling and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with selections and answering questions about products
- Follow recipes accurately and contribute ideas for new menu items or seasonal offerings
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in baking, cake decorating, or restaurant food preparation is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Strong skills in baking, cooking, and food presentation
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Attention to detail in food preparation and decoration
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends or evenings if needed
- Basic kitchen experience with familiarity in packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
