The Administrative Support IV plays a key role within the Department of Rural Medicine (DRM), part of the Calgary Corridor Medical Affairs portfolio. The team supports more than 700 physicians, both family physicians and specialists, who provide care across AHS facilities and private clinics in rural communities. This role contributes to a wide range of administrative functions and helps ensure smooth and efficient operations. Professionalism and strong communication skills are essential when working with internal and external partners, along with a positive and collaborative approach to teamwork. Success in this role requires critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Solid administrative experience and intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite are important, as is the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing timelines, and work independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities also include providing vacation coverage for Administrative Support V roles to support continuity across the department. Sound judgment and professionalism are essential, as this role represents DRM and AHS in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:
Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must read, write, and speak English fluently. Minimum of 4 years of experience in an administrative position within a healthcare environment. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with physicians. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to build positive working relationships. Strong time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively both independently and within a team environment. Ability to adapt to changing workloads, processes, and shifting priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated critical thinking skills. Attention to detail. Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access or other database experience) and Adobe.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting a rural healthcare environment. Experience with building and managing surveys in REDCap. Experience with the AMA Physician Locum Services program.
