Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Swimming Pool Maintenance Technician to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and optimal operation of residential and commercial swimming pools. This role involves routine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and minor repairs to maintain high standards of pool quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with landscape and construction-related tasks, and familiarity with various tools and equipment. Duties
- Regularly inspect pools to ensure water quality, clarity, and chemical balance meet safety standards
- Clean filters, skimmers, and pump baskets to maintain proper circulation
- Balance chemicals such as chlorine and pH levels to ensure safe swimming conditions
- Perform routine maintenance on pool equipment including pumps, heaters, and filtration systems
- Repair or replace faulty equipment using hand tools and power tools
- Conduct minor construction or landscaping tasks related to pool surroundings, including excavation or irrigation system adjustments
- Maintain the cleanliness of pool decks and surrounding areas for safety and aesthetic appeal
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as gardening or horticulture around pool facilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with pool systems and perform necessary repairs or coordinate with specialists
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any significant issues requiring further attention
Qualifications
- Prior experience with pool maintenance or related construction work preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of pool systems, pumps, filters, and chemical treatments necessary
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, excavators, irrigation systems, gardening, horticulture, landscape maintenance, and general construction experience is highly desirable
- Ability to operate equipment such as excavators or other machinery related to landscaping or construction projects is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds), work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to chemical handling and machinery operation is essential
- Valid driver’s license preferred for travel between job sites
