Successful applicants will receive the full 80-hour Institutional Safety Officer (ISO) training at no cost. We cover all required training fees so you can start your career without financial barriers.
Need Income While You Train? We've Got You Covered.
We understand that taking two weeks away from work or other responsibilities can be difficult. That’s why we provide a training honorarium equivalent to 80 hours at Manitoba minimum wage while you complete the mandatory training program.

We offer highly flexible scheduling, including full-time, part-time, and casual positions, allowing you to choose what works best for your availability and lifestyle.
No Security Guard Licence? That’s Okay.
A valid Manitoba Security Guard Licence is an asset, but it is not required to apply.
Job Summary
The Long Plain Safety Officer Division is seeking a dedicated Institutional Safety Officer (ISO) to ensure the safety and security of assigned facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring premises, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining a secure environment for staff and visitors. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and a strong commitment to protecting people and property within institutional settings such as schools, healthcare facilities, and community buildings.
Safety Officers will operate surveillance systems, conduct regular patrols, and respond promptly to incidents while ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned facilities to deter unauthorized access and identify potential safety risks.
- Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras, to observe activity and detect suspicious or unsafe behaviour.
- Enforce safety and loss prevention protocols by identifying theft, vandalism, or hazards and reporting incidents appropriately.
- Respond quickly to alarms and emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and security incidents.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of activities, incidents, and observations.
- Assist visitors and staff with access control procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and community safety partners when required.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in law enforcement, safety, security, or related fields is an asset.
- Strong surveillance and observation skills.
- Experience operating CCTV systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of safety, loss prevention, and incident response procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Physically able to perform patrol duties and respond to incidents as required.
- Professional demeanor, integrity, and commitment to community safety.
