Apprentice Electrician – Suite Rough-in & Finishing
Wage: $21/hr ~ $33.6/hr + 10% Vacation & Holiday Pay

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Apprentice for Suite Rough-in & Finishing on multi-unit residential suite projects. In this role, you will manage electrical crews from initial layout through rough-in, device trim-out, fixture installation, testing, and final inspection.
- Assist the Journeyperson in roughing in residential suites according to unit layout sheets and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
- Layout and install device boxes, vapour barriers, and subpanel enclosures to proper heights and specifications.
- Pull branch circuit wiring (NMD90 in wood frame / AC90 in steel stud), strip cables, staple runs neatly, and make up junction and device boxes.
- Install finishing devices, including receptacles, switches, light fixtures, smoke detectors, and appliance connections during trim-out stages.
- Assist with basic continuity checks, circuit verification, and prompt correction of pre-inspection deficiency items.
- Help stage materials and maintain organized, debris-free work decks and suite work areas.
- Follow all company and general contractor safety procedures, wear required PPE, complete daily FLHAs, and actively participate in morning toolbox talks.
Qualifications
- Registered Electrical Apprentice with AIT
- Prior experience in residential or multi-family suite rough-in is a strong asset.
- Able to work safely and efficiently with basic electrical hand tools and cordless power tools.
- Basic understanding of residential wiring methods and ability to follow floor layout sheets.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation to job sites

- Vacation & Holiday Pay: 10% added on top of your hourly wage (6% vacation pay + 4% statutory holiday pay, paid out directly on every paycheque).
