Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Glass Line Supervisor to oversee daily operations within manufacturing facility for one of our companies in Brampton. The ideal candidate will lead production teams, ensure quality standards, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency.
Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
- Ensure all machine guards, safety devices, and emergency systems are functioning properly.
- Monitor safe glass handling practices throughout the production line.
- Lead daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Investigate safety incidents and near misses with management.
- Ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Production Management
- Oversee all stages of the insulated glass production process, including:
- Glass Loading
- Washer/Dryer
- Spacer Application
- Inkjet Application
- Grill Installation
- Assembly Press
- Gas Filling
- Quality Control Inspection
- Monitor production output and ensure daily targets are achieved.
- Ensure quality insulated glass units are produced safely and efficiently.
Operations Oversight
- Verify machine settings and operating parameters.
- Monitor line performance and identify bottlenecks, slowdowns, or equipment issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure proper start-up and shutdown procedures are followed.
Quality Control
- Conduct regular audits throughout the shift to ensure product quality.
- Verify:
- Glass cleanliness after washing
- Spacer alignment and dimensions
- Butyl seal quality and continuity
- Argon gas fill performance
- Final product appearance and dimensional accuracy
- Identify and correct quality issues before products leave the line.
Team Leadership & Training
- Assign daily workstations and responsibilities.
- Train and mentor new employees.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching as needed.
- Support attendance, conduct, and performance management in partnership with management.
Preventative Maintenance Support
- Ensure daily inspection checklists are completed accurately.
- Verify routine cleaning and lubrication tasks are performed.
- Report equipment concerns promptly to prevent downtime.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in:
- Production efficiency
- Product quality
- Workplace safety
- Equipment performance
- Employee development
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing, glass fabrication, insulated glass production, or a related industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to read production schedules, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and coordinating with maintenance teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability to train and develop employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and inspection procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Forklift certification and First Aid/CPR certification are considered assets.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to glass handling equipment, machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and handle materials safely in accordance with company procedures.
Job Location: Brampton by Airport Rd & Steeles Ave E
Shift timings: 7:15 am - 3:30 pm
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
