Freelance Handyman — Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge (On-Call Handyman)
I am building out my on-call roster of independent handymen for jobs across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge. Freelance, not full-time: when a customer requests a job that fits your skills and availability, I will reach out with the lead and you handle the execution of the job from estimate to completion, we can work out the logistics on a mutually agreeable basis.
Who we need
- 5+ years of handyman or residential repair experience
- Your own liability insurance
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor, not an employee
- Reliable transportation
- Your own tools for the work you take on
- Able to travel to jobs across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge
- Your availability listed in your application (applications without it won't be considered)
Typical jobs
- Drywall patching and repair
- Door adjustments and hardware replacement
- Cabinet adjustments and minor modifications
- Mounting shelves, curtain rods, mirrors, TVs
- Furniture assembly
- Shed assembly
- Fence and deck repair
- Installing fixtures (toilets, sinks)
- Caulking and finishing work
- Basic paint touch-ups
- Small trim and carpentry work
- Minor kitchen and bathroom repairs
- Replacing handles, hinges, locks, fixtures
- General odd jobs, punch-list items, light maintenance
Good fit if you
- Already have solid handyman experience

Experience & insurance
- Minimum 5 years hands-on residential experience (repairs, installs, adjustments, mounting, light carpentry, finishing, general maintenance)
- Valid insurance of your own, proof available on request
Pay
- $40.00/hour, paid freelance, billed against approved appointments completed
- Best suited to someone already set up to work independently, looking for consistent extra bookings rather than a full schedule
