Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shot Blaster to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing metal components through abrasive blasting processes to ensure surface cleanliness and readiness for subsequent manufacturing steps such as machining, welding, or assembly. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. Duties
- Operate shot blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces according to specified standards
- Set up and adjust blasting machines, ensuring proper abrasive media flow and pressure
- Inspect components before and after blasting to verify surface quality and adherence to specifications
- Maintain and troubleshoot shot blasting machinery, performing routine maintenance as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for minor repairs or adjustments to equipment
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment
- Assist with loading and unloading parts using forklifts or cranes when necessary
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to lean manufacturing principles
- Document process parameters and inspection results accurately in production logs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in manufacturing, machining, or surface preparation is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in operating cranes, forklifts, and power tools
- Proficiency with hand tools, welding techniques, and basic math skills for measurements
- Understanding of lean manufacturing practices and safety regulations
- Ability to read technical drawings or work instructions is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy components safely
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
