Job Opportunity: Assistant Winemaker
Overview: The Assistant Winemaker plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the winery, assisting with grape processing, fermentation management, barrel work, bottling preparation, and cellar maintenance. This hands-on position requires knowledge of the winemaking process and attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality wines. The Assistant Winemaker will work closely with the winemaking team and harvest crew, manage wine inventory, oversee cellar operations, and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with the winery's production standards.

Skills & Qualifications:
· Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in winemaking or in a winery setting, with knowledge of grape processing, fermentation, barrel work, and bottling.
· Wine Knowledge: Strong understanding of the winemaking process, from grape to bottle, including fermentation management, barrel work, filtration, and bottling.
· Technical Skills: Experience with winery equipment such as pumps, presses, filtration systems, and barrels. Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and repair are a plus.
· Quality Control: Strong attention to detail in monitoring wine quality during fermentation, barrel aging, and throughout the production process.
· Communication: Ability to work well in a team, communicate tasks and updates with the winemaking team, and track progress effectively.
· Physical Demands: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, standing for long periods, and performing manual labor during harvest and bottling activities.
· Organizational Skills: Capable of managing inventory, tracking supplies, and maintaining detailed records for each vintage.
· Flexibility: Ability to work irregular hours during peak times, particularly during harvest season and bottling, including weekends and extended hours.
Compensation
This position offers an annual salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 CAD, based on experience and qualifications.
