Position Summary
York Dental is seeking a Sterilization Technician to join our clinical team. In this vital role, you will ensure all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. Your attention to detail and commitment to infection control will help us provide the highest quality care to our patients.
The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a spotless, efficient workspace and understands that cleanliness and organization are the foundation of safe patient care and can work in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
As a Sterilization Technician, you'll help keep the dental clinic safe and organized by:
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment
- Keeping the sterilization and lab areas clean and organized
- Performing routine maintenance and testing on sterilization equipment
- Completing required sterilization and maintenance records
- Handling clinic laundry (lab coats, uniforms, surgical caps, etc.)
- Ensuring the dental team always has clean, sterile instruments available
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dental assisting education or dental related experience is helpful but not required
- Basic knowledge of dental tools and procedures is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, professional, and able to work well with others
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
