Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) is a publicly funded charitable organization in the City of Hamilton which provides a spectrum of innovative and evidence-based, mental health services, including congregate care, day treatment, community-based services including in–home and school-based services to children, youth, families within the community.
The Centre is licensed by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. We are currently looking for permanent full-time Manager of GPS Intensive In-Home and Specialized Counselling Programs to join our team. The position is based out of the 460 Main Street East site and It is Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm with some flexibility required.
The Role:
Working under the direction of the Director of Community-Based Programs the Manager of GPS Intensive In-Home and Specialized Counselling Programs will be responsible for the management of the Specialized Counselling and Guiding Partnerships & Solutions “GPS” Intensive Mental Health Programs ensuring compliance with both legislative and accreditation standards for the programs. Will provide supervision and leadership to the multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians, child and youth care practitioners and administrative staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership in Treatment and Programming:
· Assign incoming cases to the various team members.
· Participate in making decisions about the intake, treatment and discharge planning of clients through collaboration with other clinical staff members and professional organizations.
· Coordinate and guide the efforts of multidisciplinary teams in their work with clients.
· Ensure the implementation and recording of required documentation of individual treatment plans through regular supervision of staff.
Supervision:
· Ensure adequate staffing, supervision of the day to day work of all team members.
· Provide regular supervision, feedback and performance evaluations to all assigned staff. Ensure appropriate documentation is completed to confirm these processes.
· Approve/ deny payroll related information including timecard information and time-off requests
· Endeavour to create a Healthy and Safe workplace for staff employed within the centre
· Organize and chair regular team meetings.
Oversee the Clinical Components of the Programs, Responsibilities Including:
· Ensure proper assessment, evaluation, classification, and documentation of those admitted and discharged, ensuring appropriate documentation
· Provide professional direction, coaching and mentoring to staff
· Liaise between the agency and various community agencies such as treatment/ psychiatric facilities and community groups such as child welfare
· Identify individual needs, matching identified needs to specific programs/services or making appropriate referrals to community agencies as part of the discharge planning process
· Work with Senior Leadership to review, develop and formulate institutional policies, goals and objectives as they relate to clinical mental health programs/services
Training and Program Development Responsibilities Will Include:
· Orient new employees to program specific policies, procedures and program specific best practices.
· Will be responsible for staff development through the provision of staff coaching, supervision, and training.
As a Member of the Leadership Team, Responsibilities Will Include:
· Working within assigned budget cost centers and resource allocation, specifically with regard to the relief staff resource.
· Participating as a member of the Leadership Team and in any other meetings or committees as required.
· Overseeing student placement assigned to the programs through regular meetings and review with assigned supervisors.
· Availability for meetings with the post-secondary liaisons as needed and will oversee final written evaluations of students.
· On call responsibilities on a regular rotating basis. Availability to come to the agency when needed.
· Will be actively involved in personnel issues in the agency by:
o Participation in the process of interviewing, hiring, transfer, and dismissal of staff.
o Providing supervision and evaluation of staff performance and monitoring of overtime, sick time, and vacation time of assigned staff.
o Developing work schedules and attending to other administrative tasks.
Other Duties Will Include:
· Other duties assigned, dependent on the needs of the program and the agency.
Training and Professional Development
· Participate in all mandatory agency and program training.
Skills Required
· Advanced clinical skills to review completed case reports to ensure their accuracy and compliance with service standards.
· Supervise clinical staff on how best to apply recommendations from standardized clinical assessments to develop treatment plans.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and strive for continuous improvement.
· An advanced level of skill in applying different models of intervention with children/youth and families.
· Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision
· Make decisions within the scope of practice, policies, and procedures of the agency.
· Ability to make decisions about the intake, treatment and discharge of clients.
· Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in crisis situations.
· Skilled in coaching and mentoring of multidisciplinary team members.
· Excellent leadership skills to direct and supervise all staff of the program.
· Ability to align program vision and objectives with day-to-day collaborative team processes.

· Work collaboratively and cooperatively with internal and external parties.
· Utilize effective conflict management strategies in navigating contentious issues.
· Complete all documentation in an organized, logical, easily understood, concise manner, that is suitable to the audience.
· Review and edit other’s written work.
· Present information to various internal and external audiences in an organized, logical, easily understood, concise manner, that is suitable to the format and audience.
· Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of client and staff information.
· Employ an ethical framework as prescribed by policy and procedures.
· Represent the program and agency both internally and externally, reflecting agency values and core principles.
· Ensure the maintenance of required documentation for the management of the team as well as documentation for individual treatment plans

Experience Required
· Preferred - Minimum 5 years’ experience in the child and youth mental health or related field and clinical supervisory experience.
Knowledge Required
· A superior understanding of multidisciplinary process.
Education and Training Qualification(s)
· Master’s degree, or equivalent in Social Work, Psychotherapy, Psychology or other related regulated Health Professional Field
· Registration with an accrediting professional body is required (i.e. College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Psychologists of Ontario, or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).
