A Veterinary Assistant (VA) must have a love and compassion for all pets. They will assist in ensuring the safety, comfort and well being of patients who arrive for an appointment or treatment.
The Veterinary Assistant applicant must be a Team Player and have the ability to multi-task. Their responsibilities include Reception Desk duties, answering calls from clients, maintaining medical records and client invoicing using our Avimark Vet Software, and other general clerical duties. They will be polite, caring and professional, at all times.
The position requires that the VA have excellent communication skills , strong people skills, is physically strong, dexterous and have the ability to stand for extended periods.
The Position also requires that the VA will work at the direction of the Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician, and assist them in general care of the patient; safely holding /restraining of a patient when being treated or medicated, and exercising the pet as and when required.
The VA will assist and be responsible for maintaining and ensuring reception areas, treatment areas and cages are are clean and organised, complying with Hospital Standards and Policy.
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
