Responsibilities and Duties
Hydraulic Hose Fabricator / Technician:
- Identify the hose and fitting requirements from the customer-supplied hose or requirements specified by the customer. Clearly, articulate hose measurements as found, crimp / reusable fittings used, application type, and flare identification.
- Identify crimp Specifications, Cut-Off Factors, Wire Type / Applicable Fittings to Hose / Tubing Usability.
- Perform hose fabrication/manufacturing as per the SOP/ Quality Plan issued by Ward's,
- Usage of precision measuring tools for sample products / finished products, crimp specifications, wall thickness (Tools include: Micrometers / Measuring Tape / Depth Gauges / Thread Pitch Gauges
- label every hose as per the details specified in the quality plan,
- Verify before shipping that the manufactured hose satisfies the customer-specified requirements,
- Raise corrective action whenever the planned arrangements are not met and submit it to their supervisor for review,
- Perform preventive maintenance of key equipment,
- complete relevant documentation such as Hose intake form, corrective action form etc., and submit them to the supervisor for review,
- Warehousing support duties including: Unloading trucks, Storing Products on Racking / Fitting & Hosing Inventory Counts Daily / Weekly / Monthly,
Other duties as:
- Management of inventory stocking supplies,
- Custom order management for end user clientele and logistics planning,
- Usage of tubing benders / flaring tools / de-burring tools,
- Usage of high pressure testing equipment, hose crimpers, skiving tools, hose saws, grinders, chop saws,
- Usage of forklift / weigh scales / hydraulic hose van (5-Ton Van),
- Assist Fire Suppression Branch Staff & Warehouse Staff when required (ie: Pick Parts, Assemble Tank Skids, Manufacture Fire Suppression Hoses, Assemble Harnesses).
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with ERP Sales Systems is a benefit - EPICOR / SAP is preferred.
- Physically Demanding (need to be able to lift 50lbs).
- Clean Drug & Alcohol Test Required.
- Clear Security Clearance.
- PPE Required: Safety Boots (6-8" Riser Boot).
- Strong Troubleshooting & Attention to Detail Mindset is Required.
- Strong Communication Skills Required.
- Customer Service Experience Preferred.
- Forklift Operations Certificate Preferred.
- Class 5 Drivers License is Required.
Possible Shift Scenarios:
Monday - Friday (5-2) / Project Shifts (7 - 7)
Some Weekends May Be Required (By Customer Request - ON CALL)
Some Extended hours may be required (10-12 HR Days)
Some Remote Field Work will be required with usage of the Hose Van
.
