AMC Telecom is a telecommunications contractor located in Calgary, AB., Greater Vancouver & Vancouver Island, BC. Our dynamic team of industry experts and accredited personnel are specialized in the design, installation, and maintenance of technology systems. Established in 2016, we are a commercial telecommunication contractor, that provides a diverse range of services to our clients that includes Splicing, Civil Work, HVAC Services, Fiber Optics Installation and maintenance.
We are looking for a field technician, with previous I&R or fiber optic technician experience, to join our team, working in our Lower Mainland sites. The new hire will be expected to work mostly indoors and outdoors as required, with one of our teams of experienced technicians. The new hire will receive complete and formal training by our team.
Requirements:
- A full class-5 driver's license.
- Able to work across the greater lower mainland (from Squamish to Chilliwack).
- Able to meet physical requirements of the position which involves climbing poles (with the use of a ladder) and lifting equipment weighing between 55lbs to 75lbs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Experience with telephone systems and low voltage wiring is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Install and terminate inside fiber optic cables and place outside cables (aerial or underground) in various environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to complete installations and repairs effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service requests.
- Collaborate with team members to execute telecommunication projects efficiently.
- Able to adapt to changes and be flexible with work hours.

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
