Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food orders from the kitchen to our guests, enhancing their dining experience. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where excellent customer service and teamwork are essential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong communication skills, and a keen eye for food safety and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver prepared dishes promptly from the kitchen to guest tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained
- Assist servers with food delivery and table setup as needed
- Maintain cleanliness in the service area, including clearing plates and resetting tables efficiently
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding order readiness and special requests
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed during handling and delivery of food items
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with basic food preparation or other tasks as directed
- Handle guest inquiries courteously and professionally, providing excellent guest services
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including cleaning spills and resetting tables
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments is preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and guests
- Basic understanding of POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Experience with serving, food preparation, cashiering, or barista work is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards guest satisfaction
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if needed
