Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
Simple Learners Early Learning & Childcare Centre is seeking a passionate, caring, and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating engaging, play-based learning experiences for young children.
As an RECE, you will play an essential role in supporting the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of children in our care. We are looking for a dynamic professional who can provide strong classroom leadership, maintain high-quality programming, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster meaningful relationships with children, families, staff, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs and activities that support children’s learning and development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Observe, assess, and document children’s progress and behavior to support individualized learning and development goals.
- Communicate effectively with families and collaborate with colleagues to support each child’s well-being and success.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and centre procedures.
- Support positive guidance strategies and promote social-emotional development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute positively to the childcare team.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized college or institution.
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) in Ontario.
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning setting is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to professionalism, continuous learning, and ethical standards within the ECE profession.

Required Documentation
- Current and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Health assessment and immunization records as per Ministry of Education requirements
- Valid CPR Level-C and Standard First Aid certification
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Ability to manage a large staff of teachers, support staff, and others employed at the centre.
- Strong communication skills in both English and French; bilingual candidates are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while working as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills for maintaining records and communicating effectively.
- Strong writing skills for documentation purposes, including progress reports and communication with parents.
