SUMMARY
The team lead is responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function. Supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, responsible for a group of operators and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations:
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which fulfils operational and customer demand and meet set targets
- Assist in labour planning
- Identify any systems and continuous improvements and make recommendations for change
- Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required
- Ensure a clean and tidy 5S working environment to aid operational efficiency.
People Management:
- Communicate with staff on a regular basis to ensure awareness of priorities, targets and operational requirements
- Report progress updates, key achievements, and any concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager
- Actively committed to teams’ development and growth, through training
- Have a collaborative approach to working with others.
Safety:
- Ensure that working area is clean and all equipment stored in its proper place at the
- end of the shift
- Ensure that all lifting and maneuvering of products and materials is carried out in
- accordance with proper handling procedures
- Ensure staff comply with health and safety regulations and work safely to protect
- themselves and others in the warehouse environment.
Customer Service:
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies when required in time
- manner.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, SKILLS:
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System)
- Proficient in MS Word (Outlook and Excel)
- Excellent attention to details
- Analytics and problem solving
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in warehousing environment
