Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals, ensuring a smooth operation within our clinic. Prior laboratory experience is highly valued, as it enhances the technician’s ability to perform diagnostic tests and support clinical procedures effectively.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
- Prepare animals for procedures, including sedation and anesthesia administration
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissues
- Maintain accurate medical records of patient histories and treatments
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Provide client education on animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas
- Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and recovery
- Support kennel duties including feeding, cleaning, and caring for hospitalized animals
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred
- Laboratory experience is highly desirable to support diagnostic testing processes
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification or licensing as a Veterinary Technician is a plus but not required for all positions
