Health Care Aide
Job Summary :
The Health Care Aide provides compassionate and personalized care to clients in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. This role involves supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. The ideal candidate is dedicated, attentive, and experienced in caregiving, with a strong focus on safety and comfort.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Monitor health status and report any changes to supervising healthcare professionals
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ well-being
- Assist with mobility exercises and transfers to prevent falls or injuries
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with team members
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or dementia care highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks
- Certification in caregiving or relevant health care training is a plus
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $21.00 per hour
