Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter to execute, oversee, and coordinate construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills along with a comprehensive background in residential and commercial framing. This role requires a proactive approach to project management, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to guide teams through complex tasks using schematic reading and blueprint interpretation. The Lead Carpenter will serve as a key point of contact on-site, managing daily operations and ensuring projects adhere to specifications and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction crew during projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide project execution.
- Ensure proper use of hand tools, power tools, machinery, and other specialized equipment.
- Manage project timelines and labor allocation to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the construction process to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Assist in preparing work schedules.
- Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety meetings.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members on technical skills relating to building framing.
Experience
- Proven experience as a framer.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and project management principles.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, machinery, heavy lifting techniques, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with building materials.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a construction setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality assurance.

Pay: $35.00-$44.71 per hour
