We are seeking a talented and experienced General Chargehand to lead our electrical operations at Seaspan’s North Vancouver shipyard. This is a high-profile leadership role with one of RME’s most valued and long-standing clients.
In this role, you will oversee a diverse and exciting range of electrical projects — from hands-on small-scale office renovations and power/data installations to major, high-value initiatives including new HV substations, blast and paint system replacement and the complete platen building. With projects ranging from short-term assignments to multi-year contracts starting you’ll enjoy a dynamic, challenging, and highly rewarding work environment.We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Industrial Electrical Charge Hand to join our team. This role involves overseeing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs within industrial environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical expertise, excellent blueprint reading skills, and hands-on experience with various tools and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including renovation and new construction, ensuring safety and efficiency in all electrical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects at Seaspan North Vancouver.
- Directly supervise and coordinate crews ranging in size from 3 to 20 electricians, including supporting team leads during peak periods.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with Seaspan, FRPD, ER Steel, Blast one, Schulz representatives, engineers and key site stakeholders.
- Perform take-offs, provide accurate labour estimates, and contribute to competitive project quotations.
- Oversee material procurement and ensure all projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Work hands-on when required while providing strong leadership across larger crews.
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on, safety-driven leader with solid technical electrical expertise, proven crew management skills, and a professional, client-focused mindset. Previous experience in industrial or marine environments will be a strong asset.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 × 8-hour days, with occasional weekends and after-hours work as needed to meet project demands.
